AN INTEGRATED CONCEPT FOR CLEAN,
EFFICIENT OPERATION.
The UmweltHaus uses an energy-efficient overall system based on renewable resources. Photovoltaic surfaces on the façade and roof provide clean electricity; geothermal energy and heat pumps supply heating and cooling, supplemented by a biomass CHP plant and a gas peak-load boiler. Smart exterior sun-shading and daylight-responsive lighting further reduce energy needs.

Highlights
The building fully complies with the EU Taxonomy. The geothermal system covers approx. 63% of heating demand and 100% of cooling demand, supported by the heat pump system powered by the PV façade. Through its integration in the sustainable energy concept, the system significantly contributes to the DGNB Platinum (pre-certified).
The building additionally promotes sustainable mobility through charging points by Bayernwerk for electric vehicles, available to employees and visitors alike. This makes it one of the most sustainable office buildings in the region – ecologically exemplary, economically efficient and future-proof in operation.
For its innovative strength and holistic sustainable approach, the project received the “Innovation Special Award” at the IHK Real Estate Award Middle Franconia 2025.
